Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use Revel, and limited technical information needed to run the service.

Account information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect your email address, display name, avatar, account role, authentication identifiers, account settings, notification preferences, adult-status acknowledgements, and similar account information.

Content and community activity

We collect content you submit or create through Revel, including comments, reports, creator profile details, scripts, uploaded audio, artwork, avatar images, and related metadata. If you are a creator, we may also collect creator dashboard activity and content-management records.

Listening and product activity

We collect product interaction data such as follows, favorites, playlists, queue items, playback progress, listening events, search or discovery interactions, feature usage, content reports, notification events, and similar activity. We use this information to provide the app, personalize the experience, improve Revel, and keep the service reliable.

Device, notification, and diagnostic information

If you enable notifications, we collect push notification tokens, device identifiers generated by Revel, app version, locale, time zone, notification preferences, and delivery status. Our hosting, analytics, auth, and infrastructure providers may process IP address, request logs, device/browser metadata, performance information, and error or diagnostic data when you use Revel.

How we use information

We use information to:

• create, authenticate, secure, and maintain accounts;
• provide audio playback, library features, follows, comments, notifications, creator tools, and admin tools;
• personalize content, recommendations, and product surfaces;
• moderate comments, review reports, enforce rules, and protect users and creators;
• send login emails, account messages, and push notifications you allow;
• debug, monitor, secure, and improve Revel; and
• comply with legal, safety, fraud-prevention, and operational obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information and we do not use Revel data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. We share information with service providers that help us operate Revel, such as hosting, database, authentication, storage, email delivery, analytics, push notification, security, and support providers. These providers process information for us so we can provide the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Third-party services

Revel currently uses third-party infrastructure and platform providers such as Supabase for authentication, database, and storage services; Vercel for hosting, web analytics, and deployment infrastructure; Resend for transactional email; and Apple services including APNs for push notifications and App Store distribution. These services may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.

Adult content and sensitive preferences

Revel is intended for adults. We may store your adult-status acknowledgement, content-safety acknowledgements, and content preference signals so we can gate mature content, respect your settings, and provide the experience you request. Some listening choices, comments, follows, or content preferences may reveal sensitive interests. You should use Revel only if you are comfortable with this processing.

Account deletion and retention

You can delete your account in the Revel iOS app by opening Profile, then Account Management, then Delete account. Account deletion removes your account and app-owned account data, including comments, library state, follows, playback history, notification tokens, and related records. If you have a creator account, creator-owned content may also be removed where needed to delete the account cleanly.

We may retain limited information when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or backup purposes, and then delete or de-identify it when no longer needed.

Your choices

• You can update account details and notification preferences in the app.
• You can disable push notifications in Revel or in your device settings.
• You can delete your account from the app.
• You can contact us to request help with privacy questions or account access.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to limit access, use secure infrastructure, and monitor for issues.

Children

Revel is not for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided information to Revel, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Revel changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
